This Thursday, 13 November 2025, LEGO® Insiders get early access to LEGO® Icons set 10366 Tropical Aquarium in advance of the general release on Sunday 16 November.
In addition, there's a Gift with Purchase (GwP) coupled with the set that is available until 19 November or while stocks last. Can you guess what it is from the picture above? That's right, it's a fish tank filter and some fish food. Shall we dive in?

New decoration
The model includes one exclusive element, printed on a large brick.
- 1x Brick 1 x 4 x 3 with Red Fish and Orange Plates print (66023691)
This must be a hungry litttle fishie, as those 1x1 plates can't be too easy to nibble on.
There are no other pieces of note in this set; everything else is common, which is good news for those of you who
buy the LEGO aquarium later and miss out on the GwP.
The completed model
After a surprising amount of basic brick wall building and then plate stacking, this is the result.
You might be forgiven for thinking this is a 1980s postmodern waterpark, or a Cubist sculpture of an elephant, or the home of someone with plenty of money but no taste. However, it is apparently a filter for a fish tank: here I must plead ignorance of the source material, and also apologise that this GwP came to me rather than Ben, who has
reviewed set 10366 Tropical Aquarium for us and could have placed it
in situ, which would have made much more sense.
It rests on top of the aquarium, holding it in between the pair of vertical black tiled surfaces. The curved transparent-blue panel represents water flowing into the tank.
There is some fun to be had though: a cheeky little fish has made its way into the filter. The use of a panel among the many 1x2 bricks creates a sort of window for the fish to peek out of.
It is a shame it is trapped, as it is a very cute fish, with a (relatively) complex tail. Due to its small stature it is not in the same style as
the fish in the aquarium though, which are highly stylised, but I feel that a non-printed solution to the eye might have matched a lot more? This is a fish out of water, in more ways than one. But boy is it cute.
Then there's the fish food container, which is a successful rendition – the inverted slope is perfect for the spout, and the exclusive brick is a delight.
Conclusion
Most GwP that are paired with a set don't attempt to make a model that actually fits with the set, which bothers a lot of people. This one, however, literally attaches to the partnered set. However I think there are stylistic issues here – with the mismatching fish design, and also the fact that the two models use different approaches (and materials) to represent water.
However it should add an element of realism to the aquarium, if that's what you're after. Those of us disinterested in fish tanks aren't likely to get this set or GwP anyway, and the part selection of mostly common black and transparent blue isn't likely to entice anyone not intending to buy the aquarium already.
On the upside, there are no stickers and the printed brick is adorable – as is the trapped fish. Many might consider it a fun add-on as it increases play and display value.
