This is great! Thank you for adding PAB additions to your posts! One thin I found – 6449836 isn't showing on PAB, at least not yet.
ReplyDelete(thing, not thin)
DeleteDid you try checking the show out of stock box? I found a few that I would like to pick up that didn't show at first because they are out of stock at the moment
Deletenot any longer ... it was available from 10:41 to 13:41 CET. I think it will come back ...
DeleteWhy bother with this when you can get everything you need from Bricklink-and cheaper!
DeleteBricklink is faster, true. But quantities can sometimes be harder to find, and you'll likely have to pay multiple shipping costs, vs PAB waiving shipping over $35 + VIP points + GWPs. It's not always as simple as looking at the unit price for a given item.
DeleteI agree with AK_Brickster. Plus...BL is not always cheaper...especially for brand new elements such as these. Also, these are more brand new than you'll ever get from BL. Fresh from the factory to your door step!
DeleteIt depends on the model, obviously, but I generally find that PAB is either cheaper, or close enough to BL pricing that the saving is on having free delivery (I've started batching MOCs to hit the £50 threshold) vs half a dozen charges of £2-£3. Plus my most recent orders have been timed either for double Insider points, GWPs or both. I sell the GWPs and use the points against the next order. So with each batch order I'm probably saving £15-£60 compared to BL.
DeleteFor example, my last PAB order was £125. I had £5 in points plus a £50 gift card from doing a Brickshow, got double points (£10 against my next order) and three GWPs, two of which I sold for a total of £30, so the real-money cost to me for that £125 order was £40, not including the points for next time. If I'd ordered from BL, the actual cost would have been more like £150-160 including shipping, so on that occasion PAB saved me £110-120.
That and a lot my MOCs use new parts/recolours, which are rare/extortionately priced on BL.
My rule of thumb, which doesn’t always work, is that
Delete• rare or less-common in-production parts are usually cheaper from Pick a Brick
• … particularly if you want quantities. (There were a few parts from 2023 sets that I could easily find cheaper on Bricklink, but either nobody had more than 2-3, or the sellers with 5+ were charging more than PaB.)
• …unless they are available in quantity in sets, particularly smaller sets, or are fairly large parts. Then Bricklink is likely to be cheaper. (E.G., I got whole bunch of 77823 for about half what they cost on BaP.)
• common parts are generally cheaper on Bricklink
• …unless they’re very new and you want more than come in a single, mid-priced set.
That transparent green dome has Z-Blob eyes, but you can barely tell from the orientation they've rendered.

Still no Medium Brown, Medium Tan, nor Transparent Black colors listed. Frustrating
