Review: 76291 The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron from LEGO® Marvel
08 September 2024
Are the latest LEGO® Marvel sets worth the money?
As I have been reviewing the most recent wave of LEGO® Marvel sets, the issue of relative value has been troubling me increasingly. After building The Milano and Dancing Groot for review and being thoroughly happy with the value of those sets, I moved onto The Helicarrier and I was a little disappointed with what was on offer for the price. I actually felt a little mean about being so critical. Nevertheless, I embarked upon my analysis of set 76291 Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron with a degree of pessimism.
Before proceeding further, I decided to investigate the relative cost of the August 2024 LEGO Marvel sets against other IP (intellectual property) sets and regular LEGO sets, to judge if my concerns were justified.

LEGO® Marvel review: 76297 Dancing Groot
I am Groot. Does he really need much more of an introduction than that? I am LEGO® Marvel 76297 Dancing Groot! There are only a few parts in the bags of Dancing Groot for us to report on and therefore our focus on parts is going to be a little short on content as a result.

LEGO® Marvel review: 76286 The Milano
I love a big spaceship! I won’t lie. A nice, big, ostentatious spaceship. If it is made out of plastic LEGO® bricks and all ready to be built by me and my son to start the school summer holidays off with a bang – then even better!

The LEGO Group is about to release its third “Ultimate Collector Series” (UCS) Bat-vehicle in a row, following the two sets inspired by Tim Burton’s movies - 76139 1989 Batmobile in 2019 and 76161 1989 Batwing in 2020. The subject of this year’s set is a bit more recent, since it’s a LEGO® recreation of the Tumbler from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. 76240 Batmobile Tumbler contains 2049 pieces, and is available from 1 November 2021 for £209.99 / US$229.99 / CA$329.99 / 229.99 / AU$399.99.

Thomas Jenkins (@thomas_jenkins_bricks) completes his 2-part coverage of LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes 76178 Daily Bugle today, analysing the build. It is available now priced €299.99/ £274,99/ $299,99/ 499.99 AUD/ 399.99 CAD. 76178 Daily Bugle is unlike any LEGO set I’ve built before. It’s part modular building, part playset, part diorama and it does all of these things really well. The accompanying host of minifigures are integrated into the design of the building itself, and sometimes quite spectacularly, too - as is the case of the Green Goblin bursting through the window of the second floor.
I analysed its pieces last time but there’s a ton of interesting building techniques, parts usage, and little details scattered throughout the build to still discuss. We’ll work our way up the building and take a look at them.
