60478 Cement Mixer is a great little model and one of the sets I was most looking forward to assembling out of the new LEGO City sets – not least due to the fact that it contains a brand new cement drum element.
The exclusive new element features ridges on the interior surface which function like an Archimedes' screw when the drum is rotated. Hooked up to the knob just behind the cab spins the drum to expel the 'cement' – 32 light bluish grey round plates. The newly recoloured dark bluish grey canopy element makes a great little spout to guide the load into the wheelbarrow.
I enjoyed the design of this set very much: the diagonal stripe in the paintwork makes a comeback from previous years of LEGO City sets and the red and white 'hazard stripes' around the chassis is a simple brick-built motif that appears in a number of the other vehicles, bringing all the sets together in a cohesive design. A number of the trucks in the latest wave of sets feature a hidden engine detail that can be revealed by opening a flap, a bonnet or, in this case, hinging the cab open.
The extra accessories like the wheelbarrow, signage, and printed blueprint tile make this a very fun little playset.
New moulds
Set 60478 Cement Mixer contains 3 new moulds:
- 8x Wheel in Dark Bluish Gray (6594293 | 5807)
- 1x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in Bright Light Orange (6595735 | 7665)
- 2x Cement Drum in Dark Bluish Gray (6563398 | 7673)
The new 2 x 6 jumper plate is available in a number of other LEGO City sets but this is the only set to have one in bright light orange.
The cement drum is an another exclusive for this set.
Recolours
Set 60478 Cement Mixer contains 5 recoloured elements:
- 1x Hair and Helmet, Construction / Hard Hat, Short Straight [Plain] in White (6595220 | 16175)
- 2x Plate 3 x 3 Corner in Dark Bluish Gray (6595562 | 77844)
- 1x Windscreen 6 x 2 x 2 with Handle in Dark Bluish Gray (6595733 | 92474)
- 1x Door 1 x 3 x 1 Right in Bright Light Orange (6595734 | 3821)
- 1x Door 1 x 3 x 1 Left in Bright Light Orange (6595736 | 3822)
New prints
The set contains 3 new printed elements of 2 unique designs:
- 1x Tile 2 x 4 with Groove with Blueprint of Station from set 60469 print in Blue (6579965)
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Elephant Head Logo print in Bright Light Orange (6597450)
Stickers are noticeably absent from the January 2026 wave of LEGO City sets, with branding and logos for the various in-universe companies and emergency services printed instead.
I like this approach; it saves a lot of frustration not having to line up decals on small parts and as these designs are printed on 2 x 2 tiles, they are easy to integrate into other models: I'm sure we'll see the elephant logo appear in future diggers, cranes, and bulldozers.
The blueprint tile is another lovely inclusion featuring the elevation of a very familiar station!

60479 Police Prisoner Transport
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 198
- Price: US$19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99
- Ages: 6+
View on LEGO.com
Set 60479 Police Prisoner Transport is a fun if basic model, which will probably be a bigger hit among kids than adult fans.
The police van looks suitably imposing with a bulky design and large chunky wheels. It also has a strong storytelling element, with the motor bike breaking out the prisoner from the back of the van. The build is on the simpler side and provides a very limited offering of new elements – and noticeably, no new moulds.
Recolours
Only 2 recoloured elements come in 60479 Police Prisoner Transport:
- 4x Brick Curved 1 x 2 x 1 with Curved Top in Dark Bluish Gray (6586909 | 5841)
- 1x Fairing, Motorcycle, Racing (Sport) Bike in Dark Red (6586907 | 18895)
I'm finding that the new shortened version of the classic 6091 curved slope is already finding its way into more and more of my MOCs, so this eternally useful dark bluish grey recolor is a very welcome addition to my collection.
New prints
While light on recolours, 60479 is a little more generous with its prints, including a few interesting minifigure parts:
- 1x Tile 2 x 3 with Wanted Poster print in White (6584776)
- 1x Slope Curved 3 x 2 No Studs with Police Shield Logo print in Dark Blue (6584152)
- 1x Torso with Suit and Red Tie print in Black (6586671)
- 1x Minifig Head with print in Yellow (6579704)
- 1x Minifig Head with print in Yellow (6579705)
The printed police crest is another of those generic printed elements that will most likely appear down the road in a future police-centric LEGO City set, and the printed wanted poster is a nice little bonus. It's not just the criminal in that wanted poster that looks suspicious; I wonder if the '605-20' is hinting at something, as it looks like a LEGO City set number...
The character design in this set is very fun, I'm definitely getting some Kill Bill vibes from that torso and eye mask!

60485 Hot Rod
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 81
- Price: US $9.99 / £8.99 / €9.99
- Ages: 5+
View on LEGO.com
I didn't have high expectations of this 5+ rated set but both the build and end result really surprised me.
The chassis is composed of a pair of pref fab axle holder elements: a recoloured 67446 and 3668, however they are not used in quite the way you'd expect. The 2 elements are attached perpendicular to one another to create an attachment point for the rear wheels and a seat for the driver. There's another instance of npu at the rear with the purple car bonnet used in a slightly unusual way (not a bonnet) and the lime 1 x 2 bar with clip splitting the engine at the front. They aren't crazy techniques but more than I expected for such a young-rated set.
New moulds
60485 Hot Rod provides a cheap way to get your hands on the new centered bracket but only one of them. 60846 EV Supercar below nets you 4 of this coveted new part, which is a little more cost effective.
- 1x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Black (6563402 | 7694)
Recolours
60485 Hot Rod contains 5 recoloured elements: not bad for such a small set.
- 2x Slope Curved 2 x 1 Inverted in Dark Purple (6584296 | 24201)
- 2x Plate Special 2 x 2 with Horizontal T-Bar Underneath in Dark Purple (6584297 | 5066)
- 1x Vehicle Body, Wheel Arch / Mudguard 3 x 4 x 1 2/3 Low Profile, Curved Front in Dark Purple (6584272 | 98835)
- 1x Slope Curved 6 x 4 x 2/3 Quad Curved with 2 x 2 Studs in Dark Purple (6584298 | 98281)
- 1x Brick Special 2 x 4 with Axle Holes, 2 x 2 Recessed Center in Light Bluish Gray (6584788 | 67446)
New prints
We also get some exclusive prints in this tiny set:
- 2x Slope Curved 4 x 2 No Studs with Lime Flame print in Dark Purple (6579698)
- 1x Tile Round 2 x 2 Half Circle with grill print in Lime (6579699)
- 1x Torso with print in Black (6584068)
While prints are great for 5 year old hands that don't quite have the dexterity to apply stickers neatly, the lime-on-purple print isn't quite as bold as I'd like.

60486 EV Supercar
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 109
- Price: US $9.99 / £8.99 / €9.99
- Ages: 5+
View on LEGO.com
In contrast to the Hot Rod, the EV supercar provides a more traditional build – lots of plate stacking – which is just what I expect from a 5+ set.
So while I do prefer the Hot Rod for its looks and build experience, this may offer a little more value as a parts pack, offering 4x of the new bracket, some useful relatively new curved slope elements and a new printed battery tile.
New mould
60846 EV Supercar contains 2 new moulds:
- 4x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Light Bluish Gray (6586643 | 7694)
- 1x Plate 'F1 Nose' in Black (6575837)
Recolours
- 2x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Red (6586666 | 7302)
- 1x Plate 2 x 4 in Trans-Red (6587192 | 3020)

- 1x Tile 1 x 2 with Battery print in Medium Azure (6588038)
- 1x Torso with print in Dark Orange (6589010)

60487 Yellow Taxi
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 122
- Price: $14.99 / £12.99 / €14.99
- Ages: 5+
View on LEGO.com
Another set with an 5+ age mark, this model is based on the prefab chassis (
7035) and the end result looks a little stretched.
There's a lot going for the Yellow Taxi, with an opening bonnet to inspect the batteries (LEGO City has embraced the EV) and a boot to stow the luggage (a laptop and suitcase). I particularly like the fence and modified tile combo used as a partition between the front and back seats.
In terms of parts, we have another inexpensive way to net a few new brackets and there is a good spread of prints in this small set to provide decorations for an original taxi MOC.
New mould
- 4x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Light Bluish Gray (6586643 | 7694)
Recolours
- 4x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Yellow (6586861 | 7302)
New prints
- 2x Tile 2 x 6 with 'TAXI' and Skyline print in Yellow (6579703)
- 1x Slope 45° 2 x 4 Double with Welcome to Bricksburg print in White (6579701)
- 2x Tile 1 x 2 with Battery print in Medium Azure (6588038)
- 1x Tile Special 2 x 2 Inverted with Sat Nav print in Dark Bluish Gray (6579702)
- 1x Torso with print in White (6587960)
What the taxi lacks in new moulds and recolours, it makes up for with its printed elements. The 'TAXI' tiles could easily be repurposed into a more roomy and complex MOC and I love the nice crisp 'Welcome to Bricksburg' printing on the white slope element. The printed dark grey satnav tile is another nice inclusion that surprised me when building the set.

60488 Fries Food Truck
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 216
- Price: US $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99
- Ages: 5+
View on LEGO.com
It was only logical that a fries would follow last year's burger truck! The Fries Truck is quite similar in design to the preceding burger van with a few upgrades: new round bricks frame. an opening bonnet to reveal a simple engine detail. I like these little details dotted among this year's range of sets.
The removable kitchen features a sliding window and furnished prep area with a deep fryer. I love the use of the old school crystal element used as chips. It's not a new idea but I think it works wonderfully well.
New mould
60488 Fries Food Truck serves up 4 new moulds:
- 1x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in Black (6563343 | 7665)
- 1x Plate 'F1 Nose' in Black (6575837)
- 1x Plate 'F1 Nose' in White (6588474)
- 4x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Green (6585944 | 7694)
- 2x Brick Round Curved 1 x 1 x 1 Quarter Dome in Black (6586474 | 5848)
A generous spread of new elements for this modestly priced set.
Recolour
There are 3 recoloured elements on the menu:
- 2x Brick Curved 1 x 1 in Trans-Orange (6588936 | 7126)
- 1x Window Frame 1 x 3 x 3 in Red (6588935 | 51239)
- 4x Wheel in Yellow (6588987)
The yellow wheels are technically a new mould with a new EID but they seem identical to the 77206 wheels commonly found in LEGO Speed Champions sets.
New print
3 new prints, including a new minifigure torso:
- 1x Glass for Window 1 x 4 x 3 [Opening] with Fries print in Trans-Clear (6579948)
- 2x Tile 2 x 6 with Black Checkered Pattern print in White (6579947 | 69729)

60489 Jet vs Car offers a simple build and a decent selection of new elements.
The jet features a mechanism to ignite the thruster at the rear of the aircraft; a subassembly hidden in the fuselage slides the flames in and out.
New mould
60849 offers the new bracket in 2 flavours:
- 3x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Black (6563402 | 7694)
- 6x Bracket 1 x 2 - 2 x 2 Centered in Light Bluish Gray (6586643 | 7694)
Recolour
There are 3 bright recoloured parts:
- 2x Tail Shuttle in Bright Pink (6584804 | 6239)
- 4x Wheel in Lime (6586854)
- 1x Wedge Plate 4 x 4 with 2 x 2 Cutout in Bright Pink (6584796 | 43719)
New print
The jet provides 3 new printed elements and a new torso design comes courtesy of the car:
- 2x Tile 1 x 4 with Groove with Left Thunderbolt Print in Dark Turquoise (6589006)
- 2x Tile 1 x 4 with Groove with Right Thunderbolt Print in Dark Turquoise (6588972)
- 2x Tail Shuttle with White Owl Face print on Black Background in Dark Turquoise (6579955)
- 1x Torso with print in White (6588257)
The LEGO City motorsports team has cheetah branding – very fitting!

60490 Snowplow
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 263
- Price: US $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99
- Ages: 6+
View on LEGO.com
With most of the Northern hemisphere deep in winter, the Snowplow is a very welcome addition to the LEGO City line-up.
Along with the cement mixer, recycling truck and coast guard helicopter, this is another of my favourite sets from this wave. As I mentioned above, I love the recurring brick-built chevron motif that brings all the different LEGO City vehicles together in one coherent design language.
Tilting the cab forward reveals a simple engine detail. This feature comes at the expense of a plow that extends quite far in front of the truck, which slightly spoils the aesthetics for me but it's a fun inclusion nevertheless.
The main play feature is the grit that is laid down by the truck as it is pushed forward. A wheel set against the rear tyres turns a drum at the back of the snowplow that expels the 1x1 round plate 'salt' at regular intervals behind it. I really enjoy the simple brick-built play features in these new sets rather than gimmicks that rely on specialised novel elements seen in LEGO City sets from years past.
New mould
Set 60490 contains just 1 new mould:
- 1x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in White (6593135 | 7665)
Recolour
4 elements have been recoloured for the snowplow:
- 2x Wheel in Black (6593483)
- 4x Slope Curved 2 x 6 Inverted in Orange (6586599 | 6806)
- 2x Ladder 1 x 4 in Black (6593462 | 7307)
- 6x Plate Special 1 x 2 with Clip Horizontal on End in Green (6584421 | 63868)
The black wheels are a surprise: it's the sort of element-color pairing that just makes sense, yet it appears here for the first time. The orange inverted curves make an excellent plow shape and it's great to see one of our
top elements of 2025 (tiny ladder!) get its first-ever recolour too.
New prints
Just a single new printed tile and a pair of minifigure legs in this set:
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Snowflake print in Green (6579950)
- 1x Legs with print in Dark Green (6579972)

60491 Motorcycle Transporter

- Ages: 4+
View on LEGO.com
While it might be the youngest-rated and simplest of the January LEGO City sets, 60491 still provides us with a few new elements.
Recolours
60491 Motorcycle Transporter brings us 2 elements in new colours:
- 1x Windscreen 5 x 6 x 2 Triple Curved Top Canopy with 4 Studs in Dark Blue (6590507 | 61484)
- 2x Brick Curved 1 x 1 in Dark Blue (6572735 | 7126)
New prints
Three new designs, including a printed torso:
- 2x Fairing, Motorcycle, Racing (Sport) Bike with Blue Shark print in Orange (6591495 | 18895)
- 1x Tile 2 x 4 with Groove with Truck Front print in Orange (6579952 | 87079)
- 2x Torso with print in Blue (6591507)
The LEGO City stunt team bear a suitably dangerous shark on their uniform. Curiously, while most of the in-universe LEGO City branding uses animals in their logos, this set opts for a different design on the vehicles instead.

60495 Recycling Truck
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 434
- Price: US$39.99/ £34.99/ 39.99€
- Ages: 7+

Far from rubbish, 60495 Recycling Truck is one of my top sets of the wave. Like the other models in the line-up, it strikes a pleasing balance between good looks and genuine play functionality.
The large forklift at the front lifts the dumpsters – be sure to separate your glass and paper waste – and tips their contents into the hopper behind the cab. A simple switch inside the hopper directs the waste to either the left or right side of the container. The rear container is mounted on a loose hinge so it can be tipped to empty the contents, though a mechanism to hold it in the raised position would have been a nice additional feature.
New moulds
60495 Recycling Truck contains 3 brand new moulds:
- 6x Wheel in Dark Bluish Gray (6594293 | 5807)
- 1x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in White (6593135 | 7665)
- 2x Windscreen Curved 4 x 6 x 2 in Green (6563268 | 7652)
While the new 2 x 6 jumper plate appears in a number of the new sets (as well as
11370 Stranger Things Creel House), 60495 Recycling Truck is only 1 of 2 sets in this wave to include the new large slope element (the other being
60500 LEGO van, which contains 1 in yellow).
Recolours
5 elements have been recoloured for 60495 Recycling Truck:
- 6x Window Frame 1 x 3 x 3 in Green (6522256 | 51239)
- 2x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Yellow (6586861 | 7302)
- 2x Brick Curved 4 x 6 Double, 2 x 4 Cutout in Green (6587114 | 78522)
- 2x Panel 1 x 3 x 1 in Blue (6587104 | 23950)
- 4x Glass For Frame 1 x 3 x 3 in Green (6594917 | 51266)
The green glass-and-window combo makes a for a great stand-in for the sides of the metal plating on the sides of the drum.
New print
60495 Recycling Truck features 6 new printed designs on 7 elements:
- 1x Slope Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 with paper recycling print in Light Bluish Gray (6592728)
- 1x Slope Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 with glass recycling print in Light Bluish Gray (6592726)
- 1x Tile 1 x 2 with batteryprint in Medium Azure (6588038)
- 1x Plate Special 4 x 6 with Studs on 3 Edges with paper recycling print in Black (6579975)
- 1x Plate Special 4 x 6 with Studs on 3 Edges with glass print in Black (6579974)
- 2x Brick Curved 4 x 6 Double, 2 x 4 Cutout with recycling symbol print in Green (6579973)
And the minifigure prints pictured earlier:
- 2x Torso with print in Lime (6591245)
- 2x Legs with print in Dark Green (6579972)
The recycling dumpsters in the set would provide an interesting detail in any LEGO city and I think the printed grey curved slopes could be used to make a pair of small wheelie bins to accompany them.

60498 Tractor
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 204
- Price: US $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99
- Ages: 6+
View on LEGO.com
The mech armour element on the bonnet of this tractor adds a little mean to this bluish-green machine.
The designers have done a great job of capturing the more aggressive silhouette of modern tractors and the model benefits hugely from the new smaller tyres in the front: the wheels on previous LEGO tractors always looked a little mismatched with different tread patterns in the front and back.
Like many of the other models in the line, the build is not overly complicated but the final result is fantastic, as well as the aforementioned mech armour, I love the vertically-orientated windscreen on the cab.
New mould
- 2x Tyre in Black (6562989)
Recolour
5 elements new in teal:
- 1x Plate Special, 2 x 2 Studs and Handle, Closed Ends (Mech Chest Plate / Armor) in Dark Turquoise (6584828 | 27167)
- 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 No Studs in Dark Turquoise (6584837 | 93606)
- 2x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Dark Turquoise (6587293 | 7302)
- 2x Wheel Arch, Mudguard 8 x 4 x 1 in Dark Turquoise (6584831 | 7207)
- 1x Slope Curved 4 x 6 x 2/3 Triple Curved with 4 Studs in Dark Turquoise (6584830 | 52031)
New print
- 1x Tile 2 x 2 with Grill and Bull logo print in Dark Turquoise (6579949)
The graphic design direction of the LEGO City sets should also be noted. Building on the animal theme established by the elephant construction equipment, we have a bull brand on this strong-as-an-ox tractor.

60499 Airport Fire Truck
- Release date: 1 January 2026
- Pieces: 691
- Price: US $69.99 / £59.99 / €69.99
- Ages: 7+
View on LEGO.com
I like the overall design of 60499 Airport Fire Truck; it certainly draws from real-world emergency vehicles while incorporating the LEGO City twist.
The model features a moving water cannon, as well as storage compartments for its 'ammunition' and a detailed cab and engine at the back of the truck. Turning the knob behind the cab steers the front wheels which was a fun feature to see take shape throughout the build.
However, this doesn't seem like quite enough for such a large model. I feel that the set needs a few extra accessories to provide a proper storytelling element and realize it as a true playset.
New elements
This large set is light on new elements, featuring a single new mould, recolor, and 4 new prints:
1 new mould:
- 2x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in Light Bluish Gray (6591166 | 7665)
1 new recolour:
- 1x Plate 6 x 6 with 4 Handles in Black (6591776 | 6686)
2 new prints for the 2 x 2 tile, and 2 new minifigure parts:
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Fire Service Logo print in Red (6579998)
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with stencilled '07' print in Red (6579997)
- 3x Torso with Fire Fighter Overalls print in Dark Tan (6591265)
- 3x Legs with Fire Fighter Overalls print in Dark Tan (6579996)
Sticker sheet
The set also contains a tiny sticker sheet to provide a few extra details:
Although this wave of LEGO City sets puts a strong emphasis on providing prints for generic and reusable designs, 60499 Airport Fire Truck comes with a sticker sheet to provide a few set-specific details. Stickers 1 and 2 will be applied to the interior of the cab and sticker number 3 is tablet-like accessory for the firefighters to use.

New mould
60500 The LEGO Van contains 2 new moulds:
- 1x Windscreen Curved 4 x 6 x 2 in Yellow (6589677 | 7652)

60502 Airport with Airplane

Lots of large elements help bring the sizable 60502 Airport with Airplane together quickly. While obviously not on the level of a Modular Building, there are still plenty of details and play functions to enjoy in this bustling international airport.
Airport security is usually an ordeal but the this LEGO version puts a fun twist on proceedings with functioning X ray machines for both bags and minifigures. Also on the ground floor is a working bag carousel.
Moving up to the second floor is a simple coffee shop and departure gate, where passengers can embark on a flight to 4 familiar-sounding destinations.
While overall, a pretty basic build, the air traffic control tower brings us an ingenious method to position the lookout at 45 degrees while simultaneously flipping the direction of studs upside-down.
New mould
Set 60502 features 3 new moulds:
- 2x Mudguard 2 x 4 in White (6577401 | 7896)
- 1x Plate Special 2 x 6 with Axle Holes in Dark Bluish Gray (6576403 | 7885)
- 1x Minifig Lanyard in Bright Green (6586614 | 7954)
A couple of unexpected new moulds here: the new mudguard brings
the classic 3788 element from 1978 more in line with modern design sensibilities with round wheel wells, and the new chassis – almost a POOP element – provides a sturdy base for tiny vehicles. The sunflower lanyard is begging to be repurposed as a name tag sometime in the future.
Recolour
As the sets in our review get larger, we've get more and more recolours. 60502 has a nice 8 to offer:
- 1x Cone Half 10 x 5 x 6 [Plain] in Trans-Light Blue (6594319 | 29096)
- 3x Bag / Briefcase in Dark Turquoise (6597672 | 4449)

Some delightful prints can be found at Bricksburg International Airport, including some inviting LEGO-themed holiday destinations printed on yellow 1 x 4 tiles that fans are sure to desire.
The solar panel print looks familiar; we've seen plenty of stickered versions of this detail in the past, but these LEGO City sets are committed to providing as many re-usable prints as possible!
Sticker sheet
In addition to the printed parts, some decorations are provided courtesy of a sticker sheet:
Some set-specific designs help bring Bricksburg airport to life. The flight departures reference the 4 destinations seen on the set's printed tiles as well as Billund (of course!). I imagine that LRG and TOD stand for something other than La Guardia and Tioman, though...?
The sets's generous 9 minifigure line-up provides us with 3 new torso designs:
- 1x Torso with Cabin Attendant print in Dark Blue (6592933)
- 1x Torso with jacket Over Dark Red Shirt print in Dark Orange (6589010)
- 1x Torso with Vest with Palm Leaf Pattern print in White (6587960)

The Coast Guard return to LEGO City for the first time since 2017 with a bit of a makeover, ditching the old orange colour scheme for a new reddish orange livery.
The entirely brick-built cockpit makes good use of the new windscreen to provide a spacious flight deck for the crew. I particularly like the use of the car bonnet in the nose of the aircraft with the little search lights poking out from underneath the mudguards. The brick-built chevron motif – this time in neon yellow and black – and subtle diagonal stripe on the side of the fuselage help the design fit into the rest of the LEGO City wave.
The helicopter features a winch which locks and releases with a simple brick-built ratchet mechanism hidden just behind the main propeller.
New mould
The helicopter includes 3 new moulds:
- 1x Plate 2 x 6 with 2 x 5 Studs and Door Stops on Top in Black (6563343 | 7665)
- 1x Ring with Bar (Life Preserver) with pattern in White (6597562 | 7649)
- 1x Windscreen 6 x 8 x 2 in Trans-Clear (6589819 | 7664)
Set 60503 Coast Guard Helicopter is 1 of 2 sets in the line to feature the new windscreen element in trans-clear.
Recolour
Lots of recolours in to be had here – 11 in total – and almost all of them are reddish orange:

- 3x Tile 2 x 2 with Groove in Reddish Orange (6551407 | 3068b)
- 2x Tile 45° Cut 2 x 2 (Triangle) in Reddish Orange (6551395 | 35787)
- 4x Plate 2 x 2 in Reddish Orange (6584053 | 3022)
- 4x Slope Curved 1 x 4 x 1 2/3 No Studs in Reddish Orange (6591674 | 3573)
- 4x Slope Curved 4 x 2 No Studs in Reddish Orange (6592485 | 93606)
- 1x Windscreen 6 x 6 x 1 1/3 in Reddish Orange (6591673 | 3383)

- 1x each Slope Curved 3 x 2 with Stud Notch Left & Right in Reddish Orange (6591884 | 80177) (6591882 | 80178)
A great selection of elements in the relatively new reddish orange colour; some specialized and some basic. Growing up on the British coast, I've always been fascinated with the lifeboats of the RNLI and this set provides lots of elements for a MOC of one of their vessels.

The updated Coast Guard crew also appear in the smaller
60503 Coast Guard Helicopter but here they are joined by an adorable Labrador ouftitted with a life jacket.
Sticker sheet
A small sticker sheet brings a few more details and humour to the model. Although stickers number 5 feature the same design as the 2 x 2 tiles listed above, they will be applied to a pair of 2 x 2 curved slopes on the helicopter.
The Coast Guard crew seem to use the same operating system as the firefighters in the
60499 Airport Fire Truck set which is nice touch.

The remix idea was a new type of playset which debuted in the 2025 wave of sets. It must have been met with some success as it returns for another installment in January 2026.
As an AFOL, I'm probably not the target audience for this set but I'm sure kids have fun with this novel idea and recombining the various parts of the set to produce some truly whacky vehicles. I might prefer a set that focuses on just one emergency service to make more cohesive recombined vehicles. Playing around with the set, I found that some combinations seemed to work better than others with a few models not fusing completely seamlessly. It seems that the 2025 remix set is compatible with this year's, to mix and match the segments into an even greater variety of new vehicles.
The build experience was not as repetitive as I expected with the highlight being the black skirt of the hovercraft: I always enjoy mixing the 65473 / 5489 rigatoni elements with regular bricks.
New mould
Set 60505 Airplane, Service Truck & Hovercraft Remix comes with 3 new moulds:
- 1x Ring with Bar (Life Preserver) with pattern in White (6597562 | 7649)
- 1x Windscreen 6 x 8 x 2 in Reddish Orange (6563342 | 7664)
- 4x Brick Round Curved 1 x 1 x 1 Quarter Dome in Black (6586474 | 5848)
Recolours
The model features a bright selection of recoloured parts, 11 in total:
- 1x Slope Curved 3 x 2 with Stud Notch Left & Right in Reddish Orange (6591884 | 80177) (6591882 | 80178)
- 8x Slope 45° 2 x 1 with 2/3 Inverted Cutout and no stud in Vibrant Yellow (6590687 | 28192)
- 4x Plate 2 x 3 in Reddish Orange (6584052 | 3021)
- 2x Tile 1 x 2 with Stud Notch Left & Right in Reddish Orange (6551414 | 5092) (6551415 | 5091)
- 1x Aircraft Fuselage Curved Forward 6 x 8 Top in Vibrant Yellow (6579075 | 11293)
- 1x Aircraft Fuselage Curved Aft Section 6 x 10 Bottom, Pinholes in Black (6591660 | 7245)
- 1x Aircraft Fuselage Curved Aft Section 6 x 10 Top in Vibrant Yellow (6579067 | 87615)
- 4x Tile 45° Cut 2 x 2 (Triangle) in Reddish Orange (6551395 | 35787)
- 4x Slope Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 in Reddish Orange (6535075 | 15068)
- 4x Brick Curved 1 x 2 x 1 with Curved Top in Dark Bluish Gray (6586909 | 5841)
- 2x Brick Round Corner, Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 Quarter Circle in Reddish Orange (6590686 | 5852)
New prints
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Coast Guard Logo print in Reddish Orange (6579984)
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Ambulance Logo print in Vibrant Yellow (6579983)
- 2x Tile 2 x 2 with Electricity print in Green (6579985)
Six reusable printed tiles here; the orange coast guard 2x2s feature in the 2 other Coast Guard-centric sets but the vibrant yellow and green designs are both exclusive to this set. It would be a fun exercise to take these printed tiles along with the neon yellow and teal checkered design from the set's airplane to build a MOC ambulance.
While the paramedic figure uses existing parts, the electrician and coast guard crew both feature new elements:
- 1x Legs with White Stripe print in Dark Green (6579972)
- 1x Torso with Coast Guard Uniform print in Reddish Orange (6592841)
- 1x Legs with Vibrant Yellow Stripe print in Dark Blue (6579987)

Closing thoughts
Overall, this is a strong line-up with an impressive variety of models, covering most emergency services and many different aspects of life in LEGO City (Bricksburg!). The functions are consistently excellent: they work reliably and are easy to understand through the building process itself.
Each model is sturdy and holds up to play without compromising on aesthetics, with play features that are both intuitive and neatly integrated into the design.
The cohesive visual language across the wave is particularly pleasing, with the diagonal stripe and brick-built accent running along the chassis providing a subtle but effective way of tying the sets together.
