Exclusive elements
One of the most appealing aspects of this set – which will surely please both collectors and fans of new LEGO parts – is the complete absence of a sticker sheet.
Instead, the set features 8 new printed designs spread over 12 elements:
- 1x Tile 2 x 4 with Yellow Dark Bluish Grey Panels, Grate, Coral Stains, 'SOLAR CHARGE LEVEL' print in Light Bluish Gray (6565364)
- 2x Tile 1 x 3 with Scuffed White/Black Warning Stripes print in Bright Light Orange (6559000)
- 1x Slope Curved 3 x 2 No Studs with White Leaves on Bright Green Background, Lime Circle print in White (6558998)
- 1x Brick Round Corner 4 x 4 x 3 Quarter Dome Top with Blue Droid Eyes on Black Background print in White (6558999)
- 1x Tile 1 x 3 with Yellow Robot Eyes print in Black (6568752)
- 2x Plate Round 2 x 2 with Rounded Bottom [Boat Stud] with Dark Bluish Gray Circle, White Dots (Eye) print in Black (6559002)
- 1x Tile 2 x 6 with 'WALL·E', Rust Stains print in Bright Light Orange (6559003)
- 3x Tile 2 x 3 with Black rectangle, Rust Stains print in Bright Light Orange (6559001)
A few of these elements – the printed WALL-E logo, for instance – are obviously very specific and may not see much use outside of the set, but others like the rusted 2x3 tiles and boat studs printed with eyes seem like strong candidates for MOC-material to me.
Recolours
When it released in September, a number of elements were recoloured for the set. Here are the parts in new colours that remain exclusive to the set at the time of writing:
- 3x Tile Round 2 x 2 Half Circle in Light Bluish Gray (6565027 | 5520)
- 11x Plate Special 2 x 2 x 2/3 with Two Studs On Side and Two Raised - Updated version in Bright Light Orange (6568815 | 4304)
- 2x Plate Special 1 x 2 with Pin Hole On Side in White (6547853 | 3172)
- 2x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch Left & Right in White (6565221 | 7206 & 7205)
Rare elements
The elements pictured above currently appear in 2 sets or fewer:
- 1x Wedge Plate 2 x 4 27° Left & Right in Yellow (6527828 | 65429) & (6527821 | 65426)
- 2x Windscreen 6 x 8 Curved in White (6508815 | 5274)
- 2x Bar Holder with Hole and Bar Handle in Yellow (6518949 | 23443, 49755)
- 1x Brick Curved 2 x 2 with Curved Front, 2 Studs in Light Bluish Gray (6539782 | 7037) - see Tom's analysis of part 7037: Brick 2x2x⅔ Half Circle with 2 Studs
- 1x Slope 45° 2 x 4 with 2/3 Inverted Cutout and no Studs in Bright Light Orange (6536557 | 5540)
- 2x Slope 45° 2 x 1 with 2/3 Inverted Cutout and no stud in Bright Light Orange (6485427 | 28192)
- 2x Technic Axle Connector 5L with One Side Frictionless in Black (6546682 | 5443)
The build
WALL-E
A brick-built interpretation of WALL-E's cockroach companion Hal is also included in the set. Even though it consists of just 5 elements, it's a great representation of the character – I particularly like the use of the new-for-2025 angled bar element (
7052) as his curly antennas.
A set of rubber tyres provide traction for the turning treads.
The arms are granted horizontal and vertical movement at the 'shoulders' thanks to a LEGO® Technic piston which is cleverly hidden within the body (a combination of the black frictionless 5L connector and light grey 3-long axle).
"Ta-da!", WALL-E's chest opens to reveal a compacted cube of junk, per his 'directive'.
WALL-E is a wonderfully fun model to put together, with a whole gamut of building techniques at play including LEGO Technic assemblies, SNOT building, and stud reversals. One of the areas of the model that impressed me the most were the brilliantly designed eyes which capture the shape and personality of the little robot perfectly.
EVE
In contrast to WALL-E, EVE has a sleek and elegant design. The set uses a variety of rounded elements – some large, some small – to capture EVE's curvy silhouette; a shape that is typically rather difficult to create with LEGO bricks.
Given the minimalist design of the character, there isn't a lot of scope for articulation here but the model is still able to emote with by striking a small variety of poses. I think receiving an additional quarter dome with an alternate eye print would be ideal but I appreciate there are parts and budget limitations when designing a LEGO set. To me, the iconic smiling eyes are a good compromise.
The arms can retract into the body almost seamlessly to recreate 'hibernation mode'; her appearance when she first lands on Earth.
Like WALL-E, EVE's chest opens to reveal her directive; a small green sapling in an old boot which is itself a brilliant mini-build. While the opening mechanism of her chest isn't quite how it appears on screen, it's a nice inclusion.
M-O
An added bonus, the set includes a fourth character– the 'Microbe Obliterator', M-O.
This characterful little model was another fun one to assemble, relying heavily on some simple SNOT techniques for the shaping. Like the other characters in the set, he looks just like his on-screen counterpart.
MOC with parts from 43279 Wall-E and EVE
It was initially the printed elements that drew me to this set but its large number of curvy white elements is what ended up inspiring me to build.
Rabbit
The recoloured curved slopes (7205 & 7206) were the elements that kickstarted this MOC, providing the perfect shape for both the feet and ears of this little creature. I had planned on using a few more of the white parts in the set – specifically the 2x2 round corner slopes in combination with 1x2x1⅔ curved slope with cutout (
5907) for the hind legs – but they ended up being a little too small for the look I was going for.
I think this model really highlights how the catalog of curved slopes has expanded in recent years, enabling builders to create lifelike creatures like never before. I'm particularly fond of the combination of the quarter dome and quarter circle elements used in the rabbit's cheeks.
Closing thoughts
Set 43279 WALL-E and EVE perfectly captures the spirit of these beloved Pixar characters. The likeness of all four characters in the set is spot-on, and the level of articulation – and in turn, emotion – expressed by the models is impressive; particularly WALL-E.
For the price of US$69.99/ £59.99/ 69.99€/ AU$109.99, 811 pieces presents surprisingly good value for a Disney-branded LEGO set. The build and finished models are delightful but should you wish to part out the set, there's a nice selection of useful and new-for-2025 elements like the U-shape 2 x 3 bar (
7052), Brick Curved 1 x 2 x 1 with Curved Top (
5841) and Brick 2 x 2 x ⅔ Half Circle with 2 Studs and Curved Top (
7037)... not to mention the recolours, and all those exclusive printed pieces!

This is a lovely set, and even though I rarely collect Disney sets I'm tempted to get it. Back when the Ideas WALL-E set came out, I long wished to make an EVE to go with him, but back then the much smaller assortment of curved wedges and bows made that easier said then done. This set finally makes that possibility a reality (albeit at a different scale). Including M-O at the same scale, all for a very reasonable price, is the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteThe bunny MOC you made with the parts is fantastic too! I've seen a lot of bunnies in Lego (both official ones in themes like Creator 3-in-1 as well as MOCs), and they never cease to be adorable. Using those wedge slopes for the elongated ears and feet is perfect.
Your reviews are awesome, thank you so much!
