LEGO® House & UN HQ up for grabs

Posted by Admin
New Elementary's building competition is underway and our first entry has been posted! There are still three weeks left for you to build a small model of your interpretation of what a museum for The LEGO® Group could look like - if you were the architect! Sorry - this is open to 18+ only. You can read how to enter and terms and conditions here but today I'm proud to be announcing the lineup of good folk who will be judging the competition.

The four judges will be:
  • Yvonne Doyle, a fantastic builder from the UK who you may know from her gorgeous chapter in The LEGO Adventure Book, Vol. 2. She has also reviewed sets for New Elementary.
  • Chris McVeigh, a talented builder and graphic designer from Canada; you may know him as Powerpig. He sells kits of his cool designs as well as providing beautiful instructions for free.
  • I wanted to include a non-AFOL architect on the panel. Who better than an architect I’ve known for 43 years who is one of New Elementary’s biggest fans? Yes, my mum, Jo Johnson (B. Arch. Dip TP (Lond) FRAIA MAPI).
  • Tim Johnson. That’s me.

Get microscaling folks, and post by the end of Thursday 15 May.

  1. Just out of curiosity, why is it only 18+?

    1. Conditions for running a promotion to under 18s and under 13s differ from country to country and are complex. I didn't want to limit the countries I allowed entries from.
