Which LEGO® sets have the most new parts? February & March 2021

Posted by Admin

We've been on a bit of a "lists of new parts" roll these last few days! We showed you the new parts from March as well as a list of LEGO® VIDIYO™ BeatBits printed tiles, and we finish up today with our regular list of the newest sets showing the quantity of new parts each of in them. This covers this month as well as the previous, as there weren't many new sets in February.

Developed in partnership with Toby Mac (from Rebrickable), we show both quantity as well as overall percentage of new elements. So if you like to buy sets knowing they'll contain stuff you don't yet own, you may like to use our table as one of your purchasing factors.

Which LEGO® VIDIYO™ tiles come in each set?

Posted by Admin

This month LEGO® VIDIYO™ was launched; the LEGO Group's latest virtual-meets-physical play product. This time the focus is on musical performance and video creation, and the accompanying sets include random printed 2x2 tiles, called BeatBits, that add fun effects to the videos you create once you scan them with the app. We showed them in our previous post but today we have them all listed in a table for you!

We hope to be taking a look at the new elements in the range soon  but if you're buying any, consider using our affiliate links – UK Amazon | UK LEGO Shop | USA LEGO Shop | USA Amazon | Australia LEGO Shop. New Elementary may get a commission.

Which LEGO® sets have the most new parts? December 2020 & January 2021

Posted by Admin

It's been a while since our last list of the newest LEGO® sets that shows the quantity of new parts each of in them. This edition includes December 2020 as there were so few new releases. Developed in partnership with Toby Mac (from Rebrickable), we show both quantity as well as overall percentage of new elements. So if you like to buy sets knowing they'll contain stuff you don't yet own, use our table as one of your purchasing factors.

What new LEGO® pieces were released in December 2020 & January 2021?

Posted by Admin

We love keeping you up to date with what new LEGO pieces are available for you to use in your building and so it is high time for another of our lists created by Toby Mac (on Rebrickable) revealing elements recently added. We skipped this last month as December was a quiet month for new releases so those few are included here, along with the absolute avalanche of January releases! There might also be a few pre-December ones that sneaked through.

Unfortunately it seems most if not all new parts are currently unavailable from Bricks & Pieces; at a guess I imagine this is because it is High Season for the LEGO Group. But whenever you're buying from LEGO including Bricks & Pieces, please consider following our affiliate links to get there; USA, UK or AU. New Elementary may get a commission.

Which LEGO® sets have the most new parts? October & November 2020

Time once again for our regular list of the newest LEGO® sets showing the quantity of new parts each of in them. I say regular – this one actually covers about 2 months because there have not been many new releases recently. Developed in partnership with TobyMac from Rebrickable, we show both quantity as well as overall percentage of new elements. So if you like to buy sets knowing they'll contain stuff you don't yet own, use our table as one of your purchasing factors.

If you're buying, remember VIP Weekend is happening in some countries this weekend, 21 and 22 November 2020. It's double VIP points and there are awesome gifts with purchase - but these may vary by territory, so do check yourself. What new LEGO® pieces were released in October & November 2020?

With things relatively quiet on the new sets front recently, we skipped last month's list so here is a two-month bumper edition of the newest LEGO® parts. Toby Mac (on Rebrickable) has created this list showing them all with links to which sets they come in, so you can easily check for the ones you might be interested in.

There are all the new teal parts from the new Mindstorms 51515 Robot Inventor (LEGO.com affiliate link; New Elementary earn from qualifying purchases) and 21324 123 Sesame Street with its opalescent globe. Interestingly, Tobias noticed when he imported the LEGO inventory that four printed pieces are different to what actually comes in the Sesame Street set presently.

New and rare pieces in LEGO® Trolls World Tour sets

Posted by Admin

We sent some LEGO® Trolls World Tour sets to the talented New Zealand-based builder Grantmasters for him to use as 'seed parts' for his own creations, which we will reveal to you tomorrow! Included were 41251 Poppy's Pod, 41252 Poppy's Hot Air Balloon Adventure, 41253 Lonesome Flats Raft Adventure and 41255 Pop Village Celebration.

But first we thought we'd give you this rundown on which elements are exclusive to those 4 sets (new moulds, recolours or prints) as well as the 'rare' ones that have only appeared in a few sets so far. We have created these tables with TobyMac using data from Rebrickable.

What new LEGO® pieces were released in September 2020?

Now the LEGO® sets for September are (probably) all out and their new parts added to Rebrickable, TobyMac has created this list showing them all so you can easily check for the ones you might be interested in and which sets they come in.

Harry Potter products account for much of them. There aren't as many new moulds this month; most are printed pieces and recolours. If you're buying from LEGO Bricks and Pieces, consider using our affiliate links: USA, UK. New Elementary earn from qualifying purchases.

Which LEGO® sets have the most new parts? July and August 2020

Posted by Admin
Following the success of our published lists of new elements, created in partnership with TobyMac from Rebrickable, I've been thinking of ways we could use that data for parts-loving fans like you lot! Today we launch another useful resource for you: lists of recent sets showing the amount of new elements within them.

Why? Because while many of you simply purchase new elements individually, many also enjoy building official sets. So which new sets have the most new elements? We developed the table below to show this, both in terms of quantity as well as overall percentage. So if you like to buy sets knowing they'll contain parts you don't have, use our table as one of your purchasing factors.

(CW:HP) LEGO® Harry Potter parts review: 75978 Diagon Alley

Posted by Admin
Jonas Kramm took a detailed look at the first images of new LEGO® Harry Potter set 75978 Diagon Alley and reviews the actual set as well. Today, he presents a list of its new elements and discusses the most interesting. Editorial note: Although views expressed by Harry Potter's creator do not align with that of New Elementary, we continue to cover HP sets. Read about our stance here.

After the reveal of LEGO® Harry Potter 75978 Diagon Alley just a few days ago, it’s time to take a closer look at which of the 5544 elements are new. Some were already mentioned in my last article but now we have a complete list, based on the inventory on Rebrickable, which you can see after my summary.

24 August 2020

What new LEGO® pieces were released in August 2020?

Posted by Admin
We're commencing a new resource here on New Elementary for you all today thanks to TobyMac who is an inventory admin at Rebrickable. Many of you have mentioned you missed Jonas Kramm's monthly summaries of new parts at LEGO® Bricks and Pieces (and indeed a few lovely people even offered to start doing them). But Tobias has automated the process, and made it more thorough by preparing a list of all new pieces added to Rebrickable. An advantage to this list is that any elements which already existed but have been assigned a new Element ID by LEGO have been excluded from our list. We will bring you these lists every month, probably in the latter half. If you're buying from LEGO Bricks and Pieces, consider using our affiliate links: USA or UK . New Elementary earn from qualifying purchases.

Each month I'll give a short summary of new moulds that might be interesting for MOCs, and after that give a complete list of every new Element ID that has been added to the Rebrickable database so far that month. August has given us a lot of new elements; most coming from the LEGO® Super Mario theme including a lot of completely new moulds. It also gives us, for the first time on a large scale, parts with pre-applied stickers. You can read more about that in Ben Davies' article.

Bricks & Pieces: Jonas’ Highlights - May 2019

My newest list of Bricks & Pieces highlights has been online now for two weeks but I never got around to writing something about it. But the list is worth it for sure, so take a look here:

Many new sets launched recently so we get a long list with a wide variety of bricks that are now available. Worth pointing out are LEGO® Stranger Things 75810 The Upside Down – with a small selection of plates, windows and minifigure parts, and Disney Minifigure Series – with some elements like the black plant and flower.

Bricks & Pieces: Jonas’ Highlights - April 2019

Posted by Admin
With a new month comes new pieces on “Bricks & Pieces”, The LEGO Group’s service for purchasing individual new LEGO® elements. My highlights for April are here and while the list is short I still made some interesting findings. As always you can find my list here:
BnP.jonaskramm.com

Most new parts come from the LEGO 4+ theme this month and therefore are quite big such as the new 1x8x3 Slope (Design ID 49618) and the new POOP: 1x4x3 Brick (49311). The latter is pretty useless for the AFOL community but the former will definitely find some use. Its angle is 25° in TLG's nomenclature or 33° if you prefer BrickLink's. It is only found in Toy Story 4 10767 Duke Caboom's Stunt Show at present.

More on the 3x3 Technic beam

Posted by Elspeth De Montes
Yesterday Victor P discussed the new Magenta Connector Beam 1x3x3 that does not yet appear in any LEGO® sets. Today he reveals it also comes in Black, explores more of its potential and explains how he found it for sale on the LEGO website.

In part 1 we explored the geometry of the new Connector Beam 1x3x3 and the kind of applications it could have in Technic builds. Today we’re going to experiment a bit further and see what other builds are possible with a few of them in hand.  Since I work in construction, one of the first things I thought of doing was a I-beam:

Magenta 3x3 Technic beam discovered

Posted by Admin
Today we reveal a surprising discovery made by reader Victor P. who got in touch with us when he discovered a new LEGO® part for sale that isn't in any sets.

Buying spare LEGO® parts directly from The LEGO Group’s own service, Bricks & Pieces, seems to be growing in popularity in the AFOL community, perhaps evidenced by the message currently displayed on top of the Bricks & Pieces homepage: “Due to a large number of requests, LEGO Bricks & Pieces orders are taking longer than normal to be delivered”. (Could Jonas Kramm’s monthly parts highlight be responsible for this sudden surge in parts orders?)

I am myself ‘guilty’ of having placed an order on Bricks & Pieces in early March, and made a quite surprising discovery: a part which is not listed on BrickLink, nor on Brickset, and which doesn’t come in any set that I know of. A ghost part, I may say.
