Can it get any more iconic? This vignette model includes the famous couch, lamp, table with a desk lamp and phone, the rug, a remote control and Krusty Burger drink. The sailboat painting comes as a decorated tile, and on the TV screen is a Krusty Burger ad. You will need to add your own Simpsons minifigures as no minifigures are included. This is a bit sad, but given the GwP only comes with the Krusty Burger set, I guess no-one will be without?

Adventure Peely is not to be left out however – he includes two of Brick Curved 1 x 2 x 1 with Curved Top which is newly coloured in tan (6538178 | 5841), which also comes out today in LEGO® Botanicals set 10373 Mini Bonsai Trees, and LEGO® One Piece 75636 Windmill Village Hut and 75640 The Baratie Floating Restaurant.
Peely's head is more interesting than your average LEGO BrickHeadz character thanks to being a big bent banana. Some fancy SNOTwork places the necessary studs pointing out in 5 directions to receive his tasty curved slopes.
Similarly, Cuddle Team Leader deviates from the usual block approach to provide space for the ears, mounted on two black 1x3 rounded plates.
I'm no gamer, yet I find these completely adorable, especially Peely's little neckerchief. I'm also very glad for those transparent saucers. Kids who play Fortnite will surely go mad for these!

5009422 Italian Market Van
- Release date: 7 to 13 August 2025
- Pieces: 142
- Measures: over 8 cm (3 in.) high, 10 cm (4 in.) long and 6 cm (2 in.) wide
- Availability: Free with purchases of LEGO Ideas set 21359 Italian Riviera via LEGO Stores or LEGO.com.
The Italian market trader has filled his van with goods, and his mouth with tasty coffee! He's ready to head off to the village on the Riviera.
The van has a brick-built chassis, which is a nice use of basic LEGO pieces but there's a hefty wedge of plate stacking to get through. I find the proportions odd in places, most notably the wheel arch projecting far away from the wheel, but this is a cute vehicle in the lovely colour of bright light blue.
A highlight of the set is the vast array of accessories – too many to actually fit in the tray! I'm amused by the strange range of items he is taking for sale: a lemon tree, two flowerpots, a container with bread and one banana, and a crate with one fish and three starfish. There are also some personal effects: a toolbox, broom and shovel, and the aforementioned coffee – although, as one of our followers pointed out, real Italians never get a takeaway cup! They stand at the espresso counter and knock it back.
The only thing I find truly odd is the lemon tree. I didn't know what it was from the box picture. The tree itself is a good representation, but as for the fruit... lemons don't grow upwards!
So I made an adjustment and I think it is very pretty. (...And the lemon flower is sweet. But the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat, because it's plastic.)
Although there are no decorated elements in the set, there is a pair of pieces that strictly speaking are exclusive.
Door 1 x 3 x 2 Left and Right (92262 and 92263) have only ever appeared before with printed decoration, in 76424 Flying Ford Anglia, so this is the only set to date to include them unprinted.
There's nothing new within the minifigure, which is fine – I think the element choices are great, especially the bushy eyebrows, and it's lovely to have another minifigure to add to the Italian Riviera set.
I don't have the set yet however, and I do wonder where the van will fit – the only space seems to be the area by the water's edge. The van is 7 modules wide at rear where the wheel arches are, and almost 14 modules end-to-end, so I wonder if the orange umbrella might need to find a new home.
This is certainly a cute set with plenty of play opportunities, and I feel a great affection for it. Perhaps it's just that the inclusion of a broom and spade, and a vehicle with a tray is reminding me of my first ever set with a minifigure, 605 Street Sweeper?

I can't help but feel unimpressed by the market van... the lemon tree is quite cute but I feel like we've seen this type of vehicle executed better in the past, and the minifigure with their unprinted shirt just feels dated and uninteresting. And yeah, there's generally no good space in the set to display it (the same applies to some of the modular GWPs, but at least in that case the expectation to expand your layout to make room for them is more or less built in).
ReplyDeleteNinjago polybags continue to be ugly as always... For an attempt at looking more serious, the characters' color palettes look incredibly child-oriented (saturated, disorienting colors)
