Review: SMART Play™ sets 75421, 75423, 75424 & 75426 from LEGO® Star Wars™

Some of the Star Wars sets included in the Lego Smart Play range, with Smart Bricks and tiles and minifigs.

Today I continue our exploration of the new LEGO® SMART Play™ System. In my previous blog post I took a look at all the new molds found in the first 8 LEGO® Star Wars™ sets with ‘enhanced play’, and today I'll be testing if the SMART Brick adds any value to the play experience by building 4 of them: 75421 Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter™, 75423 Luke’s Red Five X-wing™, 75424 AT-ST™ Attack on Endor and 75426 Millennium Falcon™.

New molds in LEGO® Star Wars™ SMART Play™ sets

In March this year, The LEGO Group launched a new play concept: LEGO® SMART Play™. This system consists of the SMART Brick, and tags hidden inside SMART Tiles and SMART Minifigures. Is that a whole lotta smart, or will the results really smart?

In this, our first article examining the system, the focus is on all the new molds the products introduce. Aside from the specific Smart Play molds, the sets also bring some general useful elements!

LEGO® SMART Play™ and SMART Brick revealed at CES

EDIT: This product will initially only be made available in the US, UK (not Republic of Ireland), France, Germany, Poland and Australia. 

With LEGO® Star Wars™ sets that will use LEGO SMART Play™ technology now available to pre-order, and some more general information to hand about this new technology, we have updated this article on 9 January 2026.


On 5 January at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, USA the LEGO Group revealed their new innovation which will premiere in three March LEGO® Star Wars™ sets.

Our team member Zach Hill was inside the presentation hall, and recognised fan media (like ourselves) have since had a separate presentation which added a little more insight. Read on for details!
