Contest: Construction Constructions

Posted by Admin

It’s contest time! We want you to design a LEGO® model that includes one or more elements traditionally associated with the construction industry – like the digger scoop, girder and the hardhat. The catch? The subject of your creation must not be construction industry-related!

That's right: you pick your own construction-related element/s as your starting point, but use them in a clever way that is not their original intended purpose. (We are not going to specify exactly what constitutes a ‘construction-related’ element.)

Please build a new model, don't submit something you have previously built. Your entry can be as big or as small as you like, and you can build with real bricks or digital software. Be sure to only use existing, unmodified LEGO elements in your construction. If digital, there should be no floating connections that would collapse in real life.

The full Terms and Conditions are here, along with the entry form.  You must be 18 years or older at time of entry.

Judges will be looking for imagination and creativity in your chosen element usage, and the quality of your building will also play a part. We can’t wait to see what you can come up with, and can assure you that any criticism will be... constructive!

Win prizes from LMmodels

To provide a suitably construction-related prize, our friends at LMmodels have generously sponsored this contest! LMmodels creates scale models and imaginative creations using genuine LEGO® elements, and beautifully package them with instructions.

There is one first prize, and five equal runner-up prizes. No cash alternatives are available.

First prize

The first prize comprises three buildable products designed by LMmodels.

Swietelsky Multi Tasker 1600

415 pieces | 400 sets produced | worth € 149,00

The Kirow KRC 1600 Multi Tasker is a winner when it comes to replacing rail switches. It lifts railroad switches that weigh more than 30 tons. Swietelsky has 4 different Kirow cranes. These Kirow cranes are mainly used for the renewal of railroad switches, but also for making pile foundations along the track or hoisting complete railway bridges. The crane is used all over Europe and is transported by transport company RTS.

Langeveld Crane Model

369 pieces | 35 sets produced | worth € 124,00

Coming from a long experience in container cranes and heavy lifting, Langeveld is dedicated to serving clients throughout the world with continuous crane operation. By delivering the highest standard of innovation and engineering, the continuity of your container terminal operation is our primary focus.

Euromast Micro Model

47 pieces | 75 sets produced (out of production) | worth € 49,00

A nice collaboration between two creatives. Everything that stands, lies, walks, drives or flies. LMmodels creates scale models and imaginative creations with LEGO® bricks. Recognizable, but sometimes alienating. or-create is a multidisciplinary design agency and art gallery in Rotterdam and London.

Runner-up prizes

There will be five equal runner-up prizes.

Each of the five will receive one poster of the "Lucky Luke and Daltons" LEGO® Ideas submission designed by LMmodels.

How to enter this competition

The entry form and full terms and conditions are here. Entries close 11.59pm UTC on 20 March 2023.

Good luck!

  2. Of course, the set of rules would be a construct, construed as a constricting contract.

Otherwise, I hope there won't be any problems with the Lucky Luke license for the runner-up prize.
