77252 APXGP Team Race Car from F1® The Movie

Recolours

  • 2x Plate Round Corner 2 x 2 in Pearl Gold (6578193 | 7904)
  • 1x Sports Ski 6L in Pearl Gold (6597856 | 90509, 28922)
  • 2x Brick Curved 1 x 2 x 2/3 Double Curved Top, No Studs in Pearl Gold (6597228 | 3563)
  • 1x Tile Round 1 x 1 Half Circle in Pearl Gold (6597838 | 24246)

Plus one rare-but-not-a-recolour:

Decorations

There are 10 unique prints, all of which are applied to black elements:

  • 2x + 1 spare Tile 1 x 1 with print (6585296)
  • 1x + 1 spare Slope 30° 1 x 1 x 2/3 (Cheese Slope) with print (6585295)
  • 1x Tile Special 1 x 2 with Sloped Walls [Ingot] with print (6585299)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch Right with print (6585293)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch Left with print(6585294)
  • 1x Brick Curved 1 x 4 x 2/3 Double, No Studs with print (6585291)
  • 1x Brick Curved 1 x 4 x 2/3 Double, No Studs with print(6585292)
  • 1x Wedge Sloped 2 x 5 Right with print(6585289)
  • 1x Wedge Sloped 2 x 5 Left with print (6585290)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 6 with print (6598150)

The ingot is a highlight as it's the first time the mould has received a print. Maybe someday we'll get one with a console print, like those seen throughout the LEGO movie.

The prints are joined by a large sticker sheet to complete the racer's advertisement-heavy livery.

The build

It's a solid model in isolation, but considering the multitude of F1 cars we got in 2025, there's nothing of note build-wise that you can't find elsewhere on the grid. Two minifigures instead of one is a plus though, especially as both (Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce) have exclusive double-sided heads, printed helmets and share a new torso print.

Unless you're a completionist, a fan of the movie or desperate for the gold recolours and prints, it's ultimately an easy set to pass on even though there's nothing glaringly wrong with it.

77254 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale Sports Car

New moulds

  • 4x Wheel, Sport 21 x 11 in Black with Ferrari Logo print (6585316 | 7834pr0001)
  • 4x Tyre 21/24 x 11 in Black (6575731 | 5810)
  • 6x Slope 30° 1 x 1 x 2/3 Double Concave in Red (6573685 | 7827)
  • 3x Wedge Tile 2 x 2 in Red Left (6602157 | 7828) and Right (6602155 | 7829)
  • 1x Wedge Tile 2 x 2 in Trans-Black Left (6602158 | 7828) and Right (6602156 | 7829)
We've already discussed the corner cheese and wedge tiles in my earlier article about the new moulds in LEGO Speed Champions January 2026 sets, so let's take a closer look at that new tyre and wheel hub.

The tyre's diameter is 3 modules (above left) which matches other wheels favoured by the LEGO Speed Champions theme (above, top right). A skinnier tyre and larger hub offers more realism compared to its separate five-spoke hub cap counterparts (above, bottom right).

Being just shy of 3 modules wide, the hub slots perfectly into a 3 x 3 cylinder (73111, above left) or can be capped rather nicely by the new-for-2026 3 x 3 ring (7610, above middle) or a round shield with stud (91884, above right).

The age-old New Elementary tradition of jamming random parts into unusual negative spaces yielded disappointing results this time – almost as if the triangular gaps between the spokes weren't actually intended as connection points? Weird.

Recolours

Introduced by LEGO® Elves in 2018, the diamond tile is undergoing something of a renaissance, with recolours and novel appearances in sets becoming more frequent. It's such a great compact angular element, it's surprising LEGO Speed Champions didn't adopt it sooner than last year.

Rare parts

Two elements of note here, each appearing in two other sets or less:

  • 1 x Tile 1 x 4 with Groove in Trans-Black (6559510 | 35371)
  • 4 x Tile Special 1 x 2 Diamond Plain in Black (6490944 | 35649)

Decorations

Surprise surprise, all but one of the remaining printed elements are red:

  • 1x + 1 Spare Tile Round 1 x 1 Half Circle with print (6585384)
  • 1x  + 1 Spare Tile Round 1 x 1 Half Circle with print (6585382)
  • 2x  + 1 Spare Slope 30° 1 x 1 x 2/3 (Cheese Slope) with print (6585319)
  • 1x Tile 1 x 2 with Stud Notch Left with print (6585326)
  • 1x Tile 1 x 2 with Stud Notch Right with print (6585323)
  • 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 with Stud Notch Right with print (6585324)
  • 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 with Stud Notch Left with print (6585317)
  • 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 No Studs with print (6585325)
  • 1x Tile 2 x 4 with Groove with print (6585322)
  • 2x Wheel Arch, Mudguard 4 x 2 x 2 1/2 with print (6585321)
  • 2x Wheel Arch, Mudguard 4 x 2 x 2 1/2 with print (6585320)
  • 1x Windscreen 6 x 6 x 1 1/3 with print in Trans-Black (6585318)

A surprisingly small sticker sheet is used for some other details and colour blocking.

The build

This is probably the one to get if new parts are your thing, but don't forget to build it first because there are some nice techniques to experience.

Highlights include the half-plate offsets in the nose and the sub-assembly clipped into place behind the windscreen. The colour blocking achieved with regular elements in that area is so satisfying to see come together.

Accuracy-wise, the nose feels a tad segmented and the rear could do with a print to better define the tail lights, but otherwise it's another sound 'brickification' from the LEGO Speed Champions garage.

77253 Bugatti Vision GT Hyper Sports Car

New moulds

  • Wheel Cover 7 Double Spoke in Flat Silver (6573690 | 7830)
  • 1x Wedge Tile 2 x 2 in Dark Azure Left (6589647 | 7828) and Right (6589651 | 7829)
  • 1x Wedge Tile 2 x 2 in Dark Blue Left (6573686 | 7828) and Right (6573687 | 7829)
Bugatti cars seem to be the sets for new hub-cap moulds; last year 77240 Bugatti Centodieci Hyper Sports Car included two similar styles.

Recolours

  • 1x Tile Round 1 x 1 Special with Clip-Bar in Red (6589652 | 77813)
  • 2x Tile Round 2 x 2 Half Circle in Dark Bluish Gray (6580726 | 5520)
  • 2x Bracket 1 x 1 - 1 x 2 Inverted in Dark Azure (6589636 | 73825) - also found in 60502 Airport with Airplane
  • 2x Plate 1 x 1 x 2/3 Half Round with Side Stud in Dark Azure (6589635 | 3386)

Rare parts

Dark Azure

  • 1 x Slope Curved 2 x 2 with Stud Notch in Dark Azure Left (6503571 | 5095) and Right (6513911 | 5093)
  • 1 x Weapon Spike Flexible 3.5L in Dark Azure (6178429 | 64727)
  • 1 x Wedge Sloped 1 x 5 x 1 1/3 in Dark Azure Left (6551375 | 3388) and Right (6551376 | 3389)

Dark Blue

  • 3 x Plate 1 x 1 x 2/3 with Open Stud in Dark Blue (6536141 | 86996)
  • 2 x Wheel Arch, Mudguard 4 x 2 x 2 1/2 in Dark Blue (6468003 | 3387)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch in Dark Blue  Left (6589632 | 7206) and Right (6589633 | 7205)

Decorations

Many of these parts provide essential details so the fact so many are prints and not stickers is splendid:

  • 2x Plate Round 1 x 2 Half Circle with Stud (Jumper) with print in Black (6585311)
  • 1x Plate 1 x 2 with print in Black (6585305)
  • 4x Wheel Rim 24 x 13.4 with Black Slick Tyre with print in Black (6593261)
  • 2x Tile 1 x 1 with print in Dark Blue (6585313)
  • 2x Tile 1 x 1 with print in Dark Blue (6585312)
  • 1x Slope Curved 2 x 1 No Studs [1/2 Bow] with print in Dark Blue (6585354)
  • 1x Slope Curved 2 x 1 No Studs [1/2 Bow] with print in Dark Blue (6585353)
  • 2x Tile 2 x 2 Curved, Macaroni with print in Dark Blue (6585351)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch Right with print in Dark Blue (6585307)
  • 1x Slope Curved 1 x 4 with Stud Notch Left with print in Dark Blue (6585306)
  • 2x Tile 3 x 3 Curved, Macaroni with print in Dark Blue (6585352)
  • 1x Plate 1 x 8 with print in Dark Blue (6585304)
  • 1x Tile Round 2 x 2 Half Circle with print in Dark Azure (6585310)
  • 1x Windscreen 6 x 6 x 1 1/3 with print in Trans-Black (6585308)

The printed 1 x 2 half circle jumper plates are used to depict the car's headlights but could easily be used on all things sci-fi.

The build

The Bugatti is stubbier than the other cars but takes the cake in terms of techniques.

LEGO® Technic pins connect the angled sides which each have a red bracket to represent a door handle. Nearby a pair of dark grey Barraki Eyes (58176) provide some studless support for the beautiful shaping that surrounds the 'doors'.

Curiously the new 2 x 2 wedge tiles weren't used for the rear spoiler. Perhaps the high-ups felt buyers needed reminding with some embossed studs that this is a LEGO product, because the rest of the model is more or less immaculate.

77257 McLaren W1

New moulds

  • 1x Slope 30° 1 x 1 x 2/3 Double Corner (6573684 | 7826)
  • 1x Wedge Tile 2 x 2 in Dark Blue Left (6593853 | 7828) and Right (65938557829)

Recolours

  • 3x Plate Special 2 x 3 with Cloud Edge in Black (6593250 | 5518)
  • 2x Headwear Accessory Plume / Feather Small with Pin in Trans-Red (6575165 | 87693, 79806)
  • 2x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Orange (6593852 | 7302)
  • 2x Plate Special 2 x 2 with Horizontal T-Bar Underneath in Orange (6593851 | 5066)
The Trans-red plume is ideal for the cyberpunk forest-folk everyone has been yearning for.

Rare parts

  • 2 x Slope Curved 3 x 1 x 2/3 in Black (6566851 | 7302)
  • 4 x Tile Special 1 x 2 Diamond Plain in Black (6490944 | 35649)

Decorations

  • 1x + 1 Spare Tile 1 x 1 with print in Black (6585408)
  • 1x + 1 Spare Tile Tile Round 1 x 2 Half Circle with print in Black (6585407)
  • 1x Tile 1 x 2 with print in Orange (6585401)
  • 1x Slope Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 with print in Orange (6585406)
  • 1x Slope Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3 with print in Orange (6585405)
  • 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 with Stud Notch Right with print in Orange (6585403)
  • 1x Slope Curved 4 x 2 with Stud Notch Left with print in Orange (6585402)
  • 1x Panel 1 x 2 x 2 [Side Supports / Hollow Studs] with print in Trans-Black (6585404)
  • 1x Windscreen 6 x 6 x 1 1/3 with print in Trans-Black (6585400)
The McLaren has the smallest selection of printed elements of the four sets, but has a sticker sheet to match. Just four stickers are included, all of which depict seemingly minor details. Dreamy!

Before we move on, here's a closer look at that 1 x 2 x 2 panel with engine cover print. Unfortunately, it ends up looking disproportionately small on the finished model but it's a cool design nonetheless - and ideal for some sci-fi sarcophagi!

The build

Some design subtleties are lost to the colour scheme, particularity around the bisected nose, but most of the shaping has been approximated well.

The movable rear wing is a nice attention to detail, it can extend up and out a module or so. The use of the cloud plates for the front spoiler gives me renewed hope we'll one day see the Mario moustache (7211) used for the same purpose. Read my review of 72037 Mario Kart™– Mario & Standard Kart for more on that pipe dream!

One baffling choice are the prints on the 'doors' – surely just using orange and black 1 x 2 slopes would be cleaner? Another curiosity is that the corner cheeses weren't used for prominent contouring but instead fill tiny gaps under the 'roof-mounted flow diverter'. Presumably those moulds were introduced for something greater that we've yet to see, or perhaps they were just a logical companion to the concave version seen on the Ferrari.

Closing thoughts

With so many LEGO Speed Champions sets past and present, I feel the 'gotta catch em all' mentality among fans has to be waning by now. Nevertheless, this remains a solid line-up, offering the usual supply of new moulds, recolours, prints and insightful build techniques the theme is known for.
