Designer presentation

We were lucky to have the set revealed to us by its designers at Fan Media Days in Billund last September, and especially lucky seeing as Stuart Harris – who came up with the concept model, which you can see above left – was still around to present. Stuart has been the much-loved Senior Experience Designer at LEGO® House since its inception, but has now moved to Innovation House. I ♥ Stuart!

This is the first year that Maria Anna Jędryszek has taken the LEGO House Special Edition from the concept to conclusion. Here's a 6:30 version of their presentation.

Theres more to explain though, including a poster and a passport. The press release from TLG is surprisingly informative and thorough, so I will reproduce it here verbatim!

The LEGO Group Celebrates Its Hometown with the 2026 LEGO® House Exclusive Set: “I ♥ Billund”

The newest LEGO® House Exclusive Set pays tribute to the birthplace of the LEGO brick, bringing Billund’s most iconic LEGO landmarks to life in miniature.

19 February 2026, Billund, Denmark – LEGO® House, the Home of the Brick™, today unveils its 2026 exclusive set, I ♥ Billund (40507), a heartfelt tribute to the hometown of the LEGO Group and the place where LEGO creativity began.

Made from 1,404 LEGO elements, the set captures the heart and history of Billund through a collection of miniature landmarks, each representing a chapter of LEGO history and innovation.

Designed by LEGO House Master Builders in collaboration with designers from the LEGO Group, this Special Edition set invites fans to celebrate Billund’s past, present, and future. through the universal language of the LEGO brick.

“Billund is the heart of our story. It’s where LEGO play began and where it keeps evolving,” says Søren Bering Andersen, Head of Experiences, LEGO House. “With ♥ Billund, we wanted to capture not just the landmarks, but the feeling of what this place means to families, fans, and everyone who’s ever dreamed in LEGO bricks.”

From the architectural lines of LEGO House itself to the rides and attractions of LEGOLAND® Billund, the innovative presence of LEGO Campus and the town’s early connections to travel and play, every element in I ♥ Billund reflects how a small Danish town grew into the global home of play and creativity.

A Build That Brings the Whole Family Together

The set is built around four modular sections: three landscape modules connected by a shared base, allowing families or friends to build different parts of Billund at the same time before assembling them into one cohesive display.

Every section celebrates a unique story from Billund’s creative landscape:

LEGO® House - The Home of the Brick™

At the heart of the model stands LEGO House itself, recreated with its signature stacked brick design and colours representing the endless creative possibilities of LEGO play.

Hidden details for attentive builders include:

  • A miniature Tree of Creativity, complete with the crane symbolizing how the LEGO Group is ever evolving.
  • A gold trophy element celebrating the LEGO Masters Academy, which recently introduced its new Level 1 experience.
  • Four smaller zones built in red, yellow, green, and blue, symbolizing the four core Experience Zones for Learning Through Play within LEGO House.
  • A Danish flag flying above LEGO House, marking its place as the creative heart of Billund.

LEGOLAND® Billund

The world’s first LEGOLAND® park is brought to life through recognizable landmarks such as the Medieval Castle, Observation Tower, and Miniland buildings.

Playful Easter eggs include:

  • The Dragon rollercoaster, winding through the towers.
  • A miniature train that pays homage to Miniland’s nostalgic rides.
  • A nod to the LEGOLAND guards, built in micro-scale detail.
  • A playful “LEGOLAND Billund” gateway to welcome visitors.

LEGO® Campus, Ole Kirk’s House, and LEGO System House

This section captures the heart of Billund’s creative heritage and working LEGO environment, bringing together several historic and present-day landmarks:

  • LEGO Campus, featuring green roof gardens and a miniature version of the giant welcoming Minifigure, cleverly represented using a baby Minifigure element as a playful Easter egg.
  • Ole Kirk’s House, the historic home of LEGO founder Ole Kirk Christiansen, represented as a tribute to the values of craftsmanship, quality, and care that shaped the earliest days of LEGO play. The model references the building’s distinctive architecture and the symbolic lions at its entrance, a quiet reminder of the pride and attention to detail that defined the LEGO group from the start.
  • LEGO System House (today known as the LEGO Idea House), where the LEGO System in Play was developed.
  • The Kornmarken Factory, complete with a tiny yellow LEGO delivery truck and interior production details that nod to the origins of LEGO brick manufacturing.
  • A red LEGO airplane appears in this module as a tribute to the LEGO airfield inaugurated in 1962, which later evolved into today’s Billund Airport, symbolizing the company’s journey from local roots to global reach.

Designed with Heart, and a Place for You

Completing the build, a subtle pathway runs across all three modules, representing the real-life Billund Playline – a playful walking route connecting major LEGO landmarks across town.

Along the way, builders can add themselves to the story: the set includes space to place their own minifigure or family duo in the scene, making each I ♥ Billund model into a truly personal keepsake that reflects their own connection to Billund.

A New LEGO House Passport Cover to Mark the Moment

To celebrate the launch of I ♥ Billund, LEGO House is also introducing a new LEGO House passport cover, available exclusively in Billund.

Designed as a companion to the LEGO Passport, the cover features a refined gold finish inspired by the creative spirit of LEGO House and serves as a keepsake to mark a visit to the Home of the Brick™.

The LEGO House passport cover will be available at the I ♥ Billund exclusive set launch events. After which, LEGO House guests who visit the Experience Zones can request the passport cover at the LEGO Store in LEGO House by showing their experience zone wristband, subject to availability.

Available only at LEGO House, the passport cover adds a new collectible layer to the LEGO Passport experience, giving guests a tangible way to remember their visit to Billund and continue their LEGO House journey beyond the day itself.

An Exclusive Art Print

To further celebrate the launch of I ♥ Billund, LEGO House will also introduce a limited-edition art print, available only in Billund.

The 2026 art print visually echoes the modular structure of the set, bringing together LEGO House, LEGOLAND® Billund, LEGO Campus, Ole Kirk’s House, LEGO System House, and the Kornmarken Factory in a graphic composition inspired by architectural line work and LEGO geometry. Designed as a companion piece to the physical model, the print highlights key landmarks and subtle details from the set in a collectible display format.

Like the exclusive set and passport cover, the art print will be available only at LEGO House in Billund, subject to availability.

  1. This looks nice! Do you know how long older Exclusive LEGO House sets stick around after release of a new one?

  2. Very cool!

In terms of exclusive parts, the red shirt/blue legs version of the babyfig hasn't been in anything else. Might even be a new mold since past babyfigs have had the same color of torso and legs.

  3. Cute set! As soon as I saw the first image, I became immediately captivated with that little brick-build Danish flag, and had to work out how it was constructed. It's definitely a 3386 "D-SNOT" at bottom-left, connected to what I had assumed was just a sideways 1x2 white tile, but then how would the plate & tile stack on the right connect to it?

I came up with a solution involving clips out the back of the second layer down of both stacks connected by a horizontal 3L bar, and was sure that this must be the solution....until I noticed the piece edges on the art print, and remembered that the 4585 antistud bracket exists, haha. That is for sure how this is built. What a clever little design!

It's still definitely a 3386 at bottom-left though, despite the drawn edges on the art print; as shown there, it would certainly be impossible to build (unless there really were a bar connection in the back) and you can see the rounded back of the 3386 in the photographs if you look closely. The art print is clearly not 100% accurate anyway, as the clip that attaches the flag is rendered as a complete ring instead of the 'c' shape it actually has (and is also seen in the photos).

So the build is, from left to right, bottom to top (red if not specified):

Left side: 3386, 1x1 clip (vertical, white), 1x1 plate, 1x1 tile
    Right side: 1x2 plate, 1x2 plate, 4585 (white), 1x2 plate, 1x2 tile
