"IIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" Yes, Woodstock joins Snoopy in an upcoming LEGO® Ideas set, 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy's Doghouse. This is based upon the submission by bossofdos64, which was a much smaller concept that did not include the kennel. Good grief!

About Snoopy and Woodstock
Peanuts is a comic strip by Charles M. Schulz that he drew, solely, from 1950 to 2000. The central character is a child, "Good Ol' Charlie Brown" (Schulz' preferred name for the strip; he hated the editor's forced descision of Peanuts) along with his friends and his dog, Snoopy. As the decades progressed, the quirky anthropomorphic beagle became the undisputed star of the comic – and its merchandise – although he seemed to live in a world of his own; often one of his own making with his fierce and endearing imagination.
It is hard to overestimate the popularity of Peanuts, an IP that successfully extended to television and to a lesser extent, cinema. It even went to space – the Apollo 10 lunar module in 1969 was named Snoopy, and the command module Charlie Brown. While the IP does not enjoy such levels of popularity among children today, it certainly is still present, and widespread around the globe. I expect the LEGO version will certainly prove successful, and such an early reveal by The LEGO Group suggests they perhaps think the same.
About the LEGO Snoopy set
It is appropriate that the LEGO version, coming in June 2026, focuses on Snoopy and his fine feathered friend, Woodstock upon the dog house where they enjoyed all manner of adventures together.
What's more, the kennel transforms into a charming nighttime fireside scene. It's appropriate, since it was often suggested that Snoopy's home was somehow bigger on the inside than the outside!
The above image perhaps suggests Snoopy's ears are floppy, using Technic Axle Pin 3L without Friction Ridges and 2L Axle (65249), which would make sense as no corresponding piece with friction exists.
Snoopy can sit or stand, but this requires a small alteration as shown above. The set comes with both pairs of legs so you don't need to rebuild.
New mould
Clearly its sole connection point is an antistud on the base. From this closeup, top-down view it seems to have a depth of 1 module and length of about 1.5 modules.
Recolours
Let's start at the noses!
We have to admit we struggled a bit at identifying Woodstock and Snoopy's noses! Our best guesses are:
- Helmet Dome, No Stud (5648) in Yellow with black lines print for Woodstock; this would be the first recolour for this 2024 transparent-clear Mr Freeze helmet.
- Helmet Round Sphere with Small Hole (51283) in Black for Snoopy; this 2019 piece – also used for Mr Freeze, among others – has had several transparent recolours, but never an opaque one.
- Equipment Cutlery - Fork (79741) in Yellow as a tail.
- Windscreen 4 x 6 x 1 Round (76796) with black lines print for his eyes; once again the first recolour of a previously transparent-clear piece.
- Technic Driving Ring Extension, 8 Ridges (35186) in White for his neck; this will permit respositioning for his standing/lying poses.
- Slope Curved 3 x 2 Beveled with Stud Notch Left and Right (6822 and 6823) in White for his chest; this is a 2025 mould only seen in two other colours so far.

I spotted that new mold on Woodstock's head and the grass and I immediately thought "Botanicals"
ReplyDeleteIn any case, I grew up on Peanuts and their holiday specials, so this is a must-have set for me. I love it!
DeleteThe ears gotta be connected with the 2x2 turntable piece, don't see the space or connection points for anything else. The curved slopes are flush to the head, leaving no room for any Technic connections, and it looks like they pivot around the center of what would be a 2x2-plate-sized area. Also would lack deliberate friction, allowing the ears to easily flop back for the laying down pose.
ReplyDeleteOverall, the shaping on this set seems very good! Captures the simple design of the characters effectively, with the slight exception of the thinness at the base of the neck looking a bit odd.
I can easily imagine the Woodstock hair piece being repurposed as cartoony claws, in addition to the obvious foliage uses.
