The whole thing is interesting and informative, but I particularly love the picture of the word "filth" using the offset typeface with serif you created. By any chance have you posted instructions for building this typeface anywhere? I'd love to be able to use it (I could probably reverse engineer it with some work, but having instructions to hand would be fantastic).

(I can't seem to log in to be un-anonymous, but FWIW I use the handle "snowgall" on rebrickable and bricklink)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-44445327678878474342015-04-06T21:07:41.201+01:002015-04-06T21:07:41.201+01:00Yum, yum. Think about it. The jumper plate is only slightly more useful to cap an offset segment, where a 1x2 plate with an under-jump design would allow you to cap any piece that you had sitting on regular jumpers.

Right now I have a project that demonstrates this perfectly. In order to set windows back into the body, I had to set them on 2 1x2 jumpers and put a third turned perpendicular at the top. That jumper's stud is then inserted into the tube on a cap plate, but the result is that my window design has an extra 1 plate height that I can't get rid of (and these won't help at all). Do this to a 1x2 plate and I can then put two of them lined up with the jumpers at the base, and _only_ the window in the middle will be set back into the body.Purple Davenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-10479139920178979592013-09-11T13:12:13.667+01:002013-09-11T13:12:13.667+01:00Me too, and I separated them and positioned them i...Me too, and I separated them and positioned them in sections in a most OCD fashion :O)Adminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188856208086872634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-7627035200877833342013-09-11T09:37:23.686+01:002013-09-11T09:37:23.686+01:00My Lego Tower Bridge 10214 came with a mixture of ...My Lego Tower Bridge 10214 came with a mixture of old and new jumper plates all in Tan, very annoying as I was a good way through before I realised. I guess I'm super spoiled because new molds for Bio/HF are pretty specific. That honestly surprises me about the mixing in thing.

Do you really think the Minecraft sets are worth their price as parts pack? I like small tile and cheese parts to(even though system isn't my forte) but would it be wiser and cheaper to buy stuff like that on bricklink or PAB or does the Minecraft sets really offer enough of things in colors and quantities to justify getting them? I am a Crafter, so the references would be appreciated, but the micro-scale stuff is honestly disappointing to me as a fan on Minecraft. I felt very let down when I saw what the final product was, so I never bothered getting the first set. But these two new ones look like they'd be a good source of small parts in interesting colors. Any feedback for this bioMOCer/system Derp please?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-15791220190097226602013-09-09T12:24:49.176+01:002013-09-09T12:24:49.176+01:00I needed to use letters without curves. I was wondering when they would show up in sets. I, for one, don't mind the groove (it had actually appeared on another recent variant of the jumper with the traditional bottom pin, and hasn't caused me any trouble), and I love the new connection possibilities.Aanchirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04758261805365974871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-64741332453853247162013-09-08T23:04:20.502+01:002013-09-08T23:04:20.502+01:00Cheers, Tim - thanks for highlighting the change t...Cheers, Tim - thanks for highlighting the change to the underside of teh ever-helpful jumper plate as that had passed me by until you posted about it.

I hate those new-fangled grooves on the jumpers, though - fugly :-(drdavewatfordhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17046583913458496903noreply@blogger.com
