So I wholly expect your 8x4 half-dish exists in a patent :) but whether is it ever considered necessary in a set ? time will tell. I've needed something like this for two years, going as far as cutting a standard dish in half for prototyping in my MOC, and even costing out custom making it with a 3rd-party service. Now it's like they're teasing me with this 10-wide half-dish because what I need is exactly the same thing in an 8-stud diameter! (To make things worse, I also need it in Red color, and the original full 8x8 dish was never released in Red, so I'd have to paint over another color.) I presume LEGO doesn't generally accept or consider new part suggestions.UltraViolet77https://www.blogger.com/profile/15482693394837010913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-30666232896954439652020-06-17T17:55:51.553+01:002020-06-17T17:55:51.553+01:00"LEGO don't seem very good at printing li..."LEGO don't seem very good at printing light coloured ink on dark elements these days (more info about that coming soon) and so either they have fixed the issue here, or that is a co-injected Black with White mould."

That's assuming these images are actual photos instead of renders. While they also look like they have a round base, I assume it makes them just like normal-sized macaronis: a stud hole+an axle in the back half.
Could have been a pin hole + axle in the back, but since we're seeing 2L axles, it's probably not that.

And that would be fine.. if only Lego gave us 2L bars. The only thing we have to link 2 normal macaronis so far are lipsticks (which Lego has used themselves to link macaronis, in the Caterham set), and on the rubber end they have zero clutch.anothergolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00063659558378517999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-32949403196742389212020-06-16T11:07:29.111+01:002020-06-16T11:07:29.111+01:00I based that on the red axle in the picture.
