Box of Lego Iconic GwP 40783 Coral Reef Diorama

In the second GwP in the Wonder of Nature collectible series (following 40782 Tropical Rainforest Diorama), the beauty of the underwater world is recreated in a detailed coral reef with different plants and animals.

There's a starfish, a crab, and a jellyfish that glows in the dark!

Like Tropical Rainforest Diorama, this is a great little parts pack with heaps of interesting pieces, although this time we get a wider range of unusual colours.

While there is nothing new, there are some rarer colours and 3 elements that only come in 3 other sets so far:

  • 2x Plant, Grass Stem with Bar Hole [3.2mm] in Magenta (6432361 | 15279)
  • 2x Headwear Accessory Antlers in Green (6440443 | 1613)
  • 6x Plant, with Bar and Off-shoot with Stud in Olive Green (6426470 | 1566)

Future GwPs and May the Fourth promotions

Previous GwPs and offers

The following promotions have now ended.

Double members points

LEGO® Insiders got twice as many loyalty VIP points when purchasing selected sets from 22 to 28 April 2025 at LEGO.com. This promotion was not available in stores.

The sets varied from country to country; most countries had two, but for example the USA only had one while Germany had 6 to choose from.

31215 Vincent van Gogh Sunflowers

If you've been wanting to pick up the awesome Sunflowers set that The LEGO Group developed with the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam, this would have been a great time as LEGO® Insiders earned double members points.

42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car

North America did not get double points on this one, but it seems the rest of the world did.

Check out TobyMac's review of 42206 for more info. He felt that despite the large number of new elements and the fact that licensed sets are always more expensive, this nevertheless is an expensive set. So double points sweetens the deal somewhat, plus you get the GwP 40783 Coral Reef Diorama too.

Germany

There were six sets that earned double points in Germany, including the two above.

Our team of reviewers also recommend the three below.

Lego Creator 40763 Children's Day Teddy Bear – reveal

On 27 March, LEGO revealed this LEGO® Creator gift with purchase to celebrate Children's Day, although it doesn't indicate which of the many Children's Days they mean! For example, International Children's Day is 1 June, and World Children's Day is 20 November. This is actually quite a clever solution as the GwP can be offered in different countries at the appropriate time, or indeed multiple times in the same country.

Kicking things off is Japan, where Children's Day falls on 5 May 2025.

Despite the slight appearance of a frown from some angles, this is a truly adorable GwP making full use of the wide range of curved LEGO elements, including many moulds introduced in recent years.

The arms and legs are poseable – aww, those sausage arms! They use the updated longer version of the 2x2 tube macaroni (5489) in tan, which to date has only appeared in Jonas Kramm's BrickLink Designer Studio set 910037 Mushroom House! Also rare in tan are the 2x2x⅔ quarter domes (5852), so far only found in 31162 Cute Bunny.

The bear is customisable, with 4 different looks provided:
  • glasses and a book,
  • a blue bow tie and pencils and paper,
  • a pink bow tie and a rose, or
  • a set of 3 LEGO® bricks.

Thanks to Jay's Brick Blog for spotting the set available early in Japan when he was at LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Osaka – check out Jay's review of the Children's Day Teddy Bear GwP.

Lego GwP 5009157 Amelia Ticket Booth

You can't set sail on the river steamboat Amelia without a ticket, so where will you buy one from?

This is an understated model with some nice architectural details.

There is a riverboat museum inside comprising a small steam boat model and a sand green microfigure – however once built, the only way to see that is to pull the whole roof off!

There are no stickers; the two tiles with 'TICKET' and with 'AMELIA' and schedule information are printed – the latter is exclusive.

To obtain the Amelia Ticket Booth, you needed to purchase set 21356 River Steamboat during the first week of its release.

easter chick Lego GwP 30690 April 3-13 2025 GwP

From Thursday 3 April 2025, this rather sweet GwP of a little chick decorating its sibling's shell was available.

lego baby chicken painting an egg in bright colours with a paintbrush in its beak, and a palette of paints nearby

It's just a small polybag, but this is a nice selection of parts. The clip acting as a beak clutching the paintbrush is just too cute!

Lego Icons 40761 Sméagol & Déagol GwP

The scene occurs on the Gladden River, and depicts the opening scene from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King with Sméagol in a boat on the water, and Déagol diving underwater for The One Ring. Déagol joyously inspects The One Ring on the riverbank while Sméagol – on his way to being corrupted by The One Ring and to become Gollum – sneaks up menacingly behind him.

Minifigures

Minifigs Sméagol & Déagol with double sided head prints, from GwP set 40761, seen in closeup as well as within the main model.

We've seen plenty of Gollum over the years so to get a Sméagol minifigure is an absolute treat, as is Déagol. With double-sided heads that convey the extremities of the drama in this pivotal scene, this gift with purchase is likely to be a hot item for LEGO The Lord of The Rings fans.

Déagol is holding his breath on one side, and on the other, looks joyously at the ring he has discovered. Sméagol looks content on one side as he watches his cousin in the water, but on the other side looks positively evil and menacing as he is affected by the sight of The One Ring!

To obtain the Sméagol and Déagol GwP you needed to purchase The Shire; see details below.

  1. This is the most disturbing LEGO set I've ever seen. It literally depicts the prelude to a murder!

    1. Definitely a prelude to a cold-blooded murder motivated only by avarice (as opposed to all the 100% 'justified' murders by our comic-book and space-opera heroes)
This is certainly not a set I would have thought would ever be made, but I am not complaining! In fact it is refreshing that if these sets are going to be labelled 18+ that they are prepared to stray a little more into the 'mature content' realm of pop culture (not too far though).

    2. It's interesting as I feel the same way....but didn't feel that way at all about the Death star sets that depict the superlaser firing! Literally depicting genocide on a planetary scale. Somehow one individual creature murdering another with bare hands is more disturbing.

I was curious and so had to look it up, this (and the references cited) seems to be a good place to start. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identifiable_victim_effect

    3. These comments are way better now that they're listed directly after a teddy bear GwP.

    4. :D :D Especially a teddy bear with an angry frown and tapping a brick in his paws. If he had paws that is

  2. «Also, now that it has hit 3 January in New Zealand and Australia,»

Um, I know that the seasons work differently in the southern hemisphere, but I thought all of the Anglophone countries used the same months! ;-)
