2017 Skærbæk Parts Festival: Patterns

Posted by Admin
Welcome back to our Parts Festival where we gave 60 LEGO® fans an hour to make whatever they liked using a range of new LEGO elements as 'seed' parts for their constructions.

Faced with parts in large volumes, many were inspired to make patterns.

Even an abstract pattern!

Which reminds me of an article that our sometimes-collaborator David Alexander Smith wrote about how difficult it is to make truly abstract LEGO models that don't represent something. You can read it on his blog, Building Debates.

Donate an amount of your choosing to help keep New Elementary publishing great articles about LEGO pieces. Why am I asking for money? Read more here.
BrickLink, the world's biggest LEGO® marketplace has all the parts and sets you need. Please follow any link from New Elementary to BrickLink before you buy!

  1. That round pattern in the third photo, that's some Dr. Strange level stuff right there. :D Some of these are oddly satisfying. Seems like you could almost make fractals with some of these patterns.

    1. It was built by Olimpio Alexandre. (It was too much work to notate the names of all builders but in this instance I can provide the due credit!)
