I mean, it's not unlike Mega Bloks to have...No? I mean, it's not unlike Mega Bloks to have colors with unusual effects, but that also includes things like chrome or glow-in-the-dark parts. And it's not like AFOLs consider chrome or glow-in-the-dark LEGO parts cheap or low-quality because of that.

Competing building toy brands like Mega Bloks certainly tend to fall short of LEGO quality standards in various ways, but that doesn't mean their sets, parts, and colors can never be genuinely impressive in other ways.

I also feel like still photos of this color might lend an inaccurate impression, since it might look like certain sections of the parts are oddly discolored or marbled, when it's really just the entire part having a shimmer effect that looks different depending on how the light is hitting it.Skye Barnickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12504300686346575904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-23468386060799137012020-01-22T17:28:06.612+00:002020-01-22T17:28:06.612+00:00Anyone else think these look like cheap megablock...Anyone else think these look like cheap megablocks? In the 2020 wave, in most sets the standard 2l pin 2780 is missing for instance. Also a lot of minifig parts, especially Ninjago. I think it's matter of availability for Bricks&Pieces, but I have no proof for that.tobymachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17746453405498562767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-26215651074347180802020-01-11T01:46:48.926+00:002020-01-11T01:46:48.926+00:00Transparent fluorescent blue was one of my favouri...Transparent fluorescent blue was one of my favourite Lego colours...I hope we get it back again!Peterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13516209046645011161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-6378001811230913412020-01-10T08:36:31.043+00:002020-01-10T08:36:31.043+00:00I guess I don't stress about the nomenclature ...I guess I don't stress about the nomenclature that much as I use LEGO official on New Elementary and also the BL in general - both stick in my mind now so I work with either.Elspeth De Monteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07322298254361189092noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-83011362238468810872020-01-10T08:31:54.335+00:002020-01-10T08:31:54.335+00:00Thanks for the heads up BrickoMotion. There was no reason to eschew the opal designation and the BL choice refers to the incidental surface texture while ignoring the far more unique and noteworthy color tinge & optical effect. I wonder if the new owners will work towards a unification of terms ;)theJANGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06603632207942089230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-276033407505619194.post-61646021914593329492020-01-10T01:59:05.344+00:002020-01-10T01:59:05.344+00:00:D

This would explain why they look like regular trans-glitter in many product shots, and why the instructions mentioned in this article have the element ID for the regular trans-pink.
